Staying Fit While Cruising

I was a little worried that I would turn into a mushy blob living on Estelle for a year–there’s very limited space for my yoga practice and exercise. So I asked friend and personal trainer Carlos Tapia from Mud Wall Fitness in Friday Harbor WA to come aboard and help me craft a well-rounded set of workout routines that I can do on the boat. I asked Carlos for three main routines: arms, legs, and HIIT (high intensity interval training). In all of Carlos’ routines we start with warm ups, then move to the focus exercises. Carlos always (makes me do) includes core strengtheners in each workout, and we end with cool-down stretches. As soon as I figure out how to add video to the blog I’ll introduce you to Carlos.
