Estelle’s current cruise started in August 2019 when Mark and crew members Art, Cliff, and Alex left Anacortes, WA for a voyage through the Strait of Juan de Fuca to take the “big left turn” down the west coast of the United States. These guys met at the Marine Maintenance Technology program at Skagit Valley College in Anacortes, WA. Their cruise down the West Coast ended at Anacapa Isle Marina in Oxnard, CA.

I sat with Eli as part of a n FCI holiday party which I was attending due to my pending retirement. As we discussed what I would be doing sailing can up as did Mark and his and his wife’s current sailing adventure. My wife Janice and I sail a Bemeteau 42s7 moored near our home in Tacoma. While we don’t expect to undertake such an extensive trip as you we do plan to sail the San Juan’s and further north in Canada. Maybe we will see into someday in Friday Harbor. SV Blue Dolphin.

Hi Nick, it’s great to hear from you. Congratulations on your retirement. FCI was fortunate to have you on their team for so many years; you are certain to be missed. I am also pleased that Eli has continued her career there; she is a wonderful person and I’m sure she has made a positive contribution. We would love to connect with you, Janice and Blue Dolphin sometime. Please keep us apprised of your plans. Although our plans are deliberately uncertain at the moment, there is a good chance we will be back in the PNW next summer; finishing our current cruise with an extended trip down the Inside Passage. Who knows? But let’s please stay in touch and try to meet up, if possible. Congratulations again, and good luck with retirement; I think you’ll like it. Mark
